Sanja Bizjak

Born in Belgrade in 1988 where she starts studying  piano with Zlata Males, Sanja Bizjak becomes a student at the Paris Conservatoire under Jacques Rouvier at the age of twelve. In 2004 she finishes piano and chamber music studies with Itamar Golan.

Since then,  she has been studying with Alexander Satz in Graz and Elisso Virsaladze in Munich and has participated in master classes with  Ferenc  Rados, Menahem Pressler, Maurice Bourgue, Oleg Maisenberg, Igor Lazko, Dmitri Alexeev, Felix Gottlieb and Stanislav Pochekin.

After winning many competitions for young pianists, she obtained second prize at the 2003 Vladimir Horowitz competition in Kiev, first prize in Carlet (Spain) in 2010 and two special prizes at the 2005 ARD Piano duo competition with her sister Lidija with whom she founded a piano duo in 2002. Sanja has given a large number of recitals in Europe, United States, South America and Japan and performances with Orchestre National de France, Sinfonia Varsovia, Britten Sinfonia l'Orchestre d'Avignon, l'Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, Essen and Belgrade Philharmonic and Ukraine Symphonic orchestra.

She made her Paris début in l'Auditorium du Louvre in 2006 and has since participated in festivals such as BBC Proms, la Folle journée in Nantes and in Tokyo, La Roque d'Anthéron, Nohant, Piano aux Jacobins in Toulouse in France and Bemus in Belgrade,  Serbia. She has performed in Royal Albert Hall in London, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Cité de la musique, l'Auditorium du Louvre and Salle Gaveau in Paris, in Palazetto Bru-Zane in Venice.

Sanja made her first CD for the French label Mirare in 2012 with all Stravinsky's work for piano four hands which received highly acclaimed reviews as well as two non-commercial CDs for piano duo - live recital for Radio France's programme Déclic and two pianos recital (Mozart, Schumann, Brahms) for the Meyer Fondation and the Paris Conservatoire.

She was laureate of the Paris  Natixis foundation in 2005.
